My name is Ella, I learned how to ski when I was about 2 years old at Chestnut Mountain. I started ski racing when I was 6 years old, and have been successful through my years of ski racing. The last two years have been hard. November of 2018 I had an MRI done on my knee that showed nothing more than a Torn ACL, and Meniscus. I then had surgery to repair my knee that December. The next six months were probably the hardest six months that I have ever had. I was heading to PT every morning before school, but I was also going to ski races to cheer on my friends. This was a hard thing for me to do because I got to watch my friend do what I love and also succeed. Once I got my clearance to ski I was on snow at camps. I trained every day once the resorts at home opened hoping to bet back to where I was the previous season. This season was a good comeback year for me. I qualified for the U16 junior championship in Winter Park. Not only did I qualify but I also did pretty well while I was there. I placed top 25 in my first ever downhill race and top 30 in the slalom which was pretty good results for me.
Motivation
Passion for the sport is was motivates me the most. I love skiing more than I love anything else. I am a very competitive person and do anything to be better than I was the day before. The best feeling ever is when you put in countless hours into something that you love and then it pays off.
Goals
My goal for the 2020/21 ski season would be to qualify for the U16 Nationals. This has been one of my goals for the last year, because of the year that I missed while I was injured.
Other Interests
Playing tennis & working out and having fun with my friends and family.
