April 8, 2020: An Update from Our Founder

Dear Arctica Family,

Since my last communication two weeks ago, so much has happened. Below is an update on what’s up at Arctica and the steps we are taking to operate safely and help our community thru the Covid-19 pandemic.

As of April 3rd, we have resumed shipping and receiving orders. We worked closely with our shipping partners to develop a process that allows us to ship and receive with no person to person contact. Our distribution center follows CDC guidelines for cleanliness and transmission prevention. Because we are in our low season, we are able to have one person handle our distribution center’s operation. For now all other employees are continuing to work remotely from home.

Arctica is donating our open warehouse space to The United Way and The Community Action Coalition to store needed supplies and non-perishable food. We will continue to do so as long as there is a need.

This week we are donating 5000 surgical masks to organizations in New York, New Jersey and Wisconsin. Our Hong Kong team has been able to source an initial quantity and hopes to come up with more as well as other short supply items soon.

Our sales team has donated boxes of goggles to  www.gogglesfordocs.com which is a cool website that identifies specific needs by state for doctors who need protection. Anyone can participate by going to the site and sending your old goggles to someone who needs them!

In my last note I talked about it being time to reflect and connect. Please share your favorite moments from this past season or your “Safer at Home” experiences on our Instagram or Facebook page. Love seeing them!

Stay safe,

Geoff Werner
