I’m a 14 year old from Edmonton, Alberta, making the best of an area devoid of mountains. I have been skiing since I was 2, and racing since I was 5. I race in both alpine and ski cross, having a very successful season in both disciplines, taking a podium at every event, and getting gold at least once nearly every time. At the season opening event I took home 4 out of 4 golds! Throughout the season I also tuned skis for the younger athletes on my team. At school I am enrolled in both the elite athletics and honors program. Recently SPY Optics have taken me on to their Grassroots Mountain Bike team, and am currently in the closing stages of signing onto the HEAD Skis Gold sponsorship program.
Simply put, improvement. There is no better feeling to me than seeing my training times shrink, feel the wind faster and faster, and watch my race finishes climb towards the gold with each and every run. Its that insatiable thirst that keeps me going, drives me forward.
The ultimate goal is to keep advancing, and as a first year U16 to place top 10 at every alpine event, and podium all my ski cross races would be stellar. I also want to do everything I can to draw as many, particularly young, athletes to the sport to make sure we'll have the excitement of ski racing for years to come!
I'm an avid mountain biker, riding well over 150, almost 200 kilometres a week, training for my competitive season that was sadly postponed due to the tightening restrictions from COVID-19. It was that which compelled SPY Optics to endorse me as an athlete. I'm also an avid car enthusiast, getting myself a 1988 Porsche 924S even at my age of 14. I like to stay busy.
