They are also designed to provide a good warmth to weight ratio, sufficient waterproof/breathable rating for the activity and comfortable fit. All this while always keeping style in mind.
Performance and value
Our Flex 20 fabric is designed for the highest level of technical performance. For extra comfort and stretch, it is a 4-way stretch, 85% nylon 15% lycra blend. We use nylon for this durable shell fabric, instead of polyester like most other outerwear brands, to protect your garment from gate burn or any other friction related damage. It also does not pill. Our Flex 20 fabric offers a 20/20 waterproof/breathable rating. The highest rating in the rating system. All of this adds up to one of the highest quality outerwear fabrics in the market.
Warmth without weight
Heat 80 is Arctica’s proprietary 80 gm polyester microfiber insulation. It’s a mid-loft insulation that keeps you warm, even if wet. Lightweight, resilient , washable and quick drying. This insulation is perfect for high activity in all weather conditions.
Technical performance features
In addition to the highest quality technical performance fabrics and insulation, we also utilize the best construction methods. We believe the details make the difference. We won’t skimp on the little things that you don’t see. Our garments are fully seam sealed to guarantee they are waterproof, not just water resistant. In addition, each garment we manufacture features it’s own unique set of features engineered specifically with that user in mind.
Form follows function
The GT Jacket and Pants and Targa Jacket are the highest performance jackets and side zip pants in the Arctica line. They utilize the best technical performance fabrics, insulation and construction techniques. In order to provide this level of quality we utilize our Flex 20 fabric for the shell and the Heat 80 insulation. In addition to this top of the line shell fabric, we also utilize a soft and silky 20 denier nylon lining. Strong and lightweight, this fabric allows these garments to slip on easily over whatever it is you wear underneath. This is not your standard thin, crunchy taffeta lining. It is one of the many small details that make a big difference in these jackets and pants.
The GT jacket and pants and Targa jacket are basically the same jacket. From a construction standpoint – they are the same. The difference being that the Targa jacket is a three color design. It features a white body with midnight (navy) shoulders and arms with red accents. The GT jackets are available in black/white, midnight/white, red/white. Coordinating pants are available in triple black (all black), black/white, midnight/white, red/white and white/black. Both the GT jacket and pants and the Targa jacket are available in men’s and women’s sizing.
Both jackets feature a trim, athletic fit for a true ski racer look and fit. They offer 5 external pockets and a removable 3-way adjustable hood that is helmet compatible with most helmets. To allow you to easy regulate body temperature, both jackets have large, easy to access pit zips. Another feature that sets the GT jacket and pants and Targa jacket apart from many of their competitors is that they are fully seam sealed. Because of this we are able to say they are truly waterproof, not water resistant. Several so-called performance lines are actually only critically taped – which is not water proof, just water resistant.
Some additional features that differentiate the GT jacket and pants and the Targa jacket from it’s competitors are the face protector storm flap with blow holes – to keep your face protected from the wind without fogging your goggles up. They also have an external radio/phone pocket, a large internal goggle pocket and an elasticized powder skirt to keep the snow out while still giving you room to move. There are one hand adjustable drawcords at the bottom of these jackets to seal the wind and snow out. All of these features add up to a comfortable, high quality technical performance outerwear pieces that are a great value for the money.
You will find both exceptional quality and value in all of the jackets and pants from Arctica. But if you are looking for the top of the line technical performance apparel from Arctica, get the GT jacket or Targa jacket and GT pants.
