Well, it had to happen eventually. No more snow, no more races, no more skiing. It’s a dreaded time of year, but ski season can’t last forever. However, there may be ways to prolong it. Yes, I’m speaking of summer ski camps. If you really wanna get your summer skiing fix, here are 6 of the best camps:
1. Tichy Racing Camp
Tichy Racing Camp is perfect for ski racers, as the name suggests. It is at Mt Hood, and they have 10 camps throughout the summer (from May 28-August 27). They also have 5 high intensity clinics in the summer with dates ranging from May 22-September 2.
2. Ligety Weibrecht Camp
Well, since the list of great coaches includes Ted Ligety, this had to make the list. Also hosted at Mt Hood, the camp runs for three weeks (though you can choose to go for 1, 2, or all 3) from June 21th through July 9th, 2015. Here’s the link to the site: https://www.ligetyweibrecht.com
3. National Alpine Ski Camp (NASC)
Also at Mt Hood, the National Alpine Ski Camp is a week-long session that mainly takes place during June, July, and August, though they have year round options (their fall, spring and winter camps are in different places, though). Check it out: https://www.skicamp.com/
4. Treeline Summer Camp
Formerly known as Dave Murray Summer Ski and Snowboard Camp and the Whistler Summer Snowboard Camp, this camp is the longest running ski (and snowboard) camp in North America. It’s located Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. Though it’s more catered towards terrain park, it still looks like a lot of fun: https://www.treelinecamps.com/
5. Planet Ski International
Offering camps in British Columbia, Lake Placid, NY, and Australia, Planet Ski International is all about the skiing. No fancy website, advertising or anything. They’re a summer mogul camp that will surely make you a better athlete.
6. Keely’s Ski Camp
Keely’s Ski Camp is a great experience for lady skiers who want to improve their skills. They offer spring big mountain camps for girls in April at Alta, Utah, as well as summer race camps at Mt Hood, Oregon.
*Bonus: Adult Race Camp at Mt Hood
If you’re not a kid, don’t worry! Still plenty of fun for adults to be had. Mt Hood also hosts a race camp and a mogul camp for adults in the summer time. Check it out! https://www.mthood.com/adult.htm
